| Hammond Castle Museum (medieval castle of
Dr. Hammond, America's second greatest inventor) is a popular attraction,
particularly for a rainy day. Unfortunately during the pre and
post high-tourist season, it's open only on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. I stopped by on a rainy (what else!) Tuesday and got
outside photos only, but you can see from the size of the castle that
it's well worth a trip when you can get in and do a complete tour. |

Coming back on a sunny
Wednesday, the museum still wasn't open, but the grounds in the rear
of the castle were. |

Fred Bodin does the beautiful sepia tone and color
photographs.
A video tape (made by a private party) was playing of the 1991 nor'easter, upon which the motion picture "The Perfect Storm"
was based. The film was shot in Gloucester.

While I was browsing through Bodin Historic Photo in
Gloucester, Fred Bodin recommended Essex Seafood Restaurant as a very
good, reasonably-priced restaurant where the "locals eat." I
tried it and liked it - very large portions.
