Tour de 'Toona
Altoona, PA

Rally held at Pennsylvania State University, Altoona, Pa. This spot was chosen to coincide with the Tour de 'Toona bike races held at this time. Friday night featured a BBQ, ice cream and your choice of topping for desert. Entertainment each evening. This year, there were no seminars; I imagine since the Tour de 'Toona was taking place that it was decided that people would rather go to the bike racing events. Mountain bike rides were scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Featured guests included Karen Bliss Livingston, Chris Carmichael, Bill Strickland, Ed Pavelka, Willie Weir

	A number of vendors set up at the rally - Terry bicycles and accessories for women always has lots of goodies including demo bikes at a good price (I purchased a Classic last year at the Bloomsburg rally). Aero Tech by Schnaubelt ( http://www.schnaubelt.com ) has some really neat bike seat covers as well as excellent buys on bike shorts and jerseys. You can order from their website.

Bike Fridays were well represented. Above couple just purchased new Air Fridays.	Two proud owners of the New World Tourist Fridays.

This gentleman was wearing a "Team AARP" shirt that his wife had special made for his 50th birthday. On the front was "I am not over the hill!"

	A number of us chose to camp rather than stay in the dorm rooms. The cat statute is PSU's logo. The couple are my camping neighbors.
