- Bellevue Avenue and Ocean Drive: Newport. Cycle past
world-famous mansions and continue onto the curvy road that hugs the
Atlantic Ocean. Bring a camera. About 15 miles. You
can combine this with the Newport Cliff Walk. Begin at Memorial
Boulevard; this is a 3.5 mile picturesque walk overlooking the
Atlantic Ocean and adjoins many famous Newport summer mansions.
Designated a National Recreation Trail in 1975.
- Blackstone River Bikeway: Northern Rhode Island. The
first 3 mile section is open. The 19 mile path will connect the
Blackstone Valley National Heritage Corridor between Providence and
Worcester.
- Block Island: With its spectacular scenery, winding roads,
and invigorating breezes, the whole island is ideal for cycling.
- Colt State Park: Bristol. Picturesque ride through
grounds of former Colt family estate and along Narragansett Bay
shoreline. About 3.2 miles.
- Conanicut Island (Town of Jamestown): Over and across the
rolling landscape of the Narragansett Bay island. About 20
miles.
- East Bay Bicycle Path: A 14.5-mile path which travels from
Providence to Bristol. Provides access to several state parks
and follows Veteran's Memorial Parkway in East Providence. The
path is 10' wide, asphalt-paved, and has 4' shoulders.
- Goddard Sate Park: Warwick. Cycling throughout the
park. About 8 miles.
- Greenville Area: Smithfield. Cycle in and around this
quaint village in the heart of Rhode Island's apple country.
About 20 miles.
- Tiverton and Little Compton: Rhode Island's southeastern
most corner. 25-35 miles of quiet routes through peaceful towns.
- Wilson Park Bikeway: Wickford. A 1.5 mile loop
circling the 75-acre Wilson Park offers picnic spots, hidden coves,
water views and shopping.
